How this works

LinkedIn doesn't support rich text in posts, but it does render Unicode characters. This tool converts your text to Unicode variants — which display as styled text on LinkedIn (and most other platforms). Note: the formatting may not render in some fields or on all devices.

Frequently asked questions

How does bold text work on LinkedIn?

LinkedIn's editor has no formatting toolbar for posts, so bold and italic are done with Unicode characters that look like styled text. The formatter converts your words into those characters, which you then paste into LinkedIn like normal text.

Will the styled text show up in the feed and on mobile?

Yes. Because the formatting is Unicode rather than a font, it renders the same in feeds, on mobile, and in the LinkedIn app. The preview shows you exactly what other people will see before you post.

Does formatting count toward LinkedIn's character limit?

Each styled character counts as one character toward the post limit, same as plain text. Some Unicode characters can be counted differently by LinkedIn's editor, so it's worth pasting first and checking the counter before publishing.

Can I use these styles in headlines and comments too?

Yes. The same Unicode text works in post headlines, comments, and even profile sections that accept formatted text. Just copy the styled version and paste it wherever you need it.
